Since 2011, The Nicholas Center has spearheaded inclusive initiatives, enabling people who think differently to get to work. Combatting an 85%+ unemployment rate, the vocational supports we've put in place have had an impact on hundreds of lives.

VOCATIONAL SKILLS CENTERS
At TNC’s community-based Vocational Skills Centers, participants benefit from being exposed to and gaining skills in various work industries in a setting that enables growth, exploration and learning. Aside from learning vocational skills training, TNC focuses on teaching professionalism, social skills and money management, as well as other skills exploring preferences, talents and dreams without limitations.
Various on-the-job experiences are available through our ever-evolving Navigators Program, which serves the community volunteering at various businesses and organizations.
TNC CHOCOLATE LAB
The Nicholas Center offers a vocational skills program in the Culinary Arts where participants explore the art of chocolate-decorating with great results! Chocolate-covered pretzels, Oreos, graham crackers, rice cakes and more special orders are available for order.

Supported employment by TNC
Through The Nicholas Center's Supported Employment Program (SEMP), our trained staff provide job development and job placement services based on an individual's interests and skills. Individuals are supported at work with the goal of fostering confidence, building independence, securing internships and gaining meaningful employment. This program is available to: individuals and families, businesses and community community partnerships and vendors.
