The Nicholas Center acts as agents of change to inspire, encourage and motivate communities to include Autistic individuals in all facets of community life. JOIN OUR TEAM
The organization supports individuals to learn critical life skills, improve social and communication abilities, gain meaningful vocational training, and engage in community projects.
With a focus on inclusive employment, The Nicholas Center offers a Supported Employment Program offering on-the-job experiences and has been instrumental in the creation of micro-businesses and social enterprises.
This program pairs 2 underserved communities - the Autistic adults supported by TNC and financially insecure residents on Long Island and in Westchester, NY. Team TNC procures, organizes, sorts and delivers essential items such aspersonal hygiene and cleaning supplies to 3,500 neighbors-in-need at local food pantries.
Children in the U.S. have Autism.
The amount of Autistic adults who are disconnected
from community life and the world of work.
The amount of people who will become working-age Autistic adults in the next decade (1 in 45).
The lifetime per capita incremental societal cost of Autism
according to the National Institutes of Health.
