To be agents of change that inspire communities to include Autistic individuals in all facets of life.
The Nicholas Center is a human service agency.
A 501c3 with a social mission: to create innovative programs and services that allow Autistic individuals to learn, live, and work in the community. We focus on an individualized approach – meeting the person where they are – abilities, needs for support, interests and goals — we create opportunities for community engagement, vocational training and job support and peer connections.
in putting the needs of the people we serve first. Everything flows from that belief. We believe our employees are our greatest asset in achieving our mission and we commit to their ongoing development, engagement and job satisfaction.
that workplace conduct directly impacts the people we serve, staff morale and donor confidence. We believe in assessment and evaluation of performance levels to ensure accountability toward all our core values.
in being woven into the fabric of the community and strive to be actively involved in partnerships that sustain that. We believe in showing appreciation, humility and respect to those who give freely their time and resources.
We believe in creative, inventive and fresh ideas that further or sustain our mission and purposes.
We believe in continuous reevaluation of current methods and have an open mind to consider all things in a flexible and responsible way.
in developing processes that uphold our fiduciary responsibilities as a public charity and human service entity. We believe in the recruitment of skilled & trained professionals and advisors that will maintain the quality of having strong moral principles and uprightness.
The Nicholas Center supports individuals to learn critical life skills, improve social and communication abilities, gain vocational training and jobs and engage in meaningful community projects. With a focus on creating inclusive employment opportunities, The Nicholas Center offers a Supported Employment Program, supporting individuals on the job and has been instrumental in the creation and success of micro-businesses.
